Open Educational Resource Movement
Have You Heard of MERLOT(opens in new window)? Have you heard of MIT's OpenCourseWare initiative? Both are examples of sources of free materials for faculty in the exciting new Open Educational Resource (OER) movement. As described in Wikipedia(opens in new window), "Open Educational Resources (OER) are freely accessible, openly licensed(opens in new window) documents and media that are useful for teaching, learning, and assessing as well as for research purposes.

Affordable Learning Solutions
The CSU has initiated an Affordable Learning Solutions (ALS) Campaign in response to the ever increasing costs of textbooks and other expenses for our students. The ALS website(opens in new window) provides links to potential sources of free or low cost resources, including no costs "Open Textbooks."
