Circulation

Who Can Use:
You must be a registered student, faculty or staff, or have a courtesy or nonaffiliated user (NAU) card to check out material. Other patrons may check out government documents (only) with a California driver's license or DMV identity card and Social Security number.

Loan Periods:
The loan period is 21 days for undergraduates, staff, courtesy and NAU patrons, and 35 days for graduate students. Books checked out to faculty are due on April 15th.

Overdue Fines:
Fines for overdue books are 25 cents per item, per day, and accumulate to a maximum of $20.00 per book. Fines are computed for each calendar day, whether the library is open or closed.
Services:

Search: When a book should be on the shelf but cannot be located, a search for the book may be requested at Circulation.
Hold: If a book is checked out, a hold on the book may be placed at Circulation. When the book is returned, the patron will be notified and the book will be held for seven days.

Reserve

Where is Reserve?
   Reserve is located in Circulation & Reserve on the 1st floor.

What's in Reserve:
    Reserves include items placed on reserve by faculty and government documents for public inspection.

Who Can Use:
You must be a registered student, faculty or staff, or have a courtesy or nonaffiliated user card to check out material. Other patrons may check out government documents (only) with a California driver's license or DMV identity card and Social Security number.

Loan Periods (see Reserve Circulation Policy)
Reserve materials may be borrowed for two hours or 24 hours, depending on the item.
Material may be renewed at the Circulation & Reserve Counter only by the person who originally checked out the material.

Returning Materials:
All materials must be returned to the book drop at the Circulation & Reserve counter or the outside book drop by the due time/date.
Items may be returned through the outside book drop when the library is closed.

Overdue Fines:
Fines for overdue reserve items are:  0.50 cents per hour, for each item
Fines accumulate to a maximum of  $20.00 per item.
Fines are computed for every hour and day, whether the library is open or closed.
