Library Notices
Notices to students for overdue fines and replacement fees are distributed by email only. To receive library notices, activate your campus-assigned email account from the university’s home page. For additional information on activating your email account, visit the student help desk in the Student Computer Lab in Meriam Library, room #116.

View Your Library Account
Lets you view a list of the items you currently have checked out, a list of materials you have requested to be held for you & a list of debts you may have at the library.
Steps to access your library account:

1. From the ReSEARCH Station, click “Renew Your Books
2. Enter your login credentials

Renew Books
Lets you renew books one time. Online renewal allows you one more circulation period without physically renewing books at circulation. Overdue items cannot be renewed.
Steps to renew books:

1. Access your library account (see above)
2. View items checked out.
3. Click renew box for each item you wish to renew.
4. Click "Renew Selected" button.
5. IMPORTANT - Check new due date and review "Status" column for messages.

Place a Hold (Request a Book)
Lets you place a hold on an item that is currently checked out to another patron. When the requested material becomes available, notification will be sent to your campus-assigned email account and you can pick the item up at the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor of the Meriam Library.
Steps to place a hold (request a book):

  1. Search the library catalog.
  2. Click on the Request button under the item number in the Brief Results list or on the Request button in the row of buttons at the top of the Full Record.
    • Notes: If a book is not checked out, or is Library Use Only, the Request button will not display. The Request button only appears in the Brief Results list when you perform a Keyword Search. For other searches, place your Request from the Full Record.

  3. Log in to My Library Account.
  4. Using the drop down boxes, choose a “Cancel if not filled by” date and click on the Submit button. Note: You can click on the Submit button and not fill in a date if you do not have a specific date after which you no longer need the book.
  5. A message will display telling you if your request was successful or not.
  6. Click on the Public Display button to return to the screen where you placed your Request OR
  7. Click on the Start Over button to begin a new search OR
  8. Click on Return To Your Record at the top of the screen to see or cancel items you have requested.

To cancel a hold (Request a book):

To cancel a Request for a book: Access your My Library Account and click on the Requests link to the right of your name to see a list of books you have requested. Check the cancel box to the left of the item you want to cancel and click on the Cancel Selected button. To cancel Requests for all items, click on the Cancel All button.
