For Off Campus Users

How to Access the Library's Restricted Research Databases

Current CSU, Chico, students, staff, faculty, and emeritus faculty can access the Meriam Library's restricted databases from their homes, or any other remote location.Screen capture of EZproxy login

To access databases from off campus, go to the research databases via the Library ReSEARCH Station. When you select a database, you will be asked for your CSU, Chico Portal username and password.

If you don’t have a portal account, if it’s not working, or if you encounter difficulty, please review "Your Portal Account" information or call (530) 898-4357. Note: the Chico Password Station manages faculty and staff account passwords and security.

For Students Enrolled in the Chico Distance & Online Education (CDOE) Program

As a CDOE student you have access to the library’s restricted databases (see above), circulating books, and articles in our print journals. Information on how to have articles and books in our collection delivered to you through Interlibrary Services can be found here. If you are having trouble with your library research for an assignment, please contact the appropriate subject librarian for help.

Retired Faculty (non-emeritus), Staff, and Alumni

Unfortunately licensing with our database vendors does not allow us to provide remote database access to our retired faculty, staff and alumni. However, access to databases and electronic full-text, as well as to the library’s print collections, is available to anybody who visits the library.

ReSEARCH Station Databases That Are Not Restricted

Several of the databases available through our ReSEARCH Station are free to the public. Access to the following databases is unrestricted.
