NOTE: Microforms have moved out of the Media & Microform room (next to the Copy Service) and are now located on the 2nd floor North with the Map Collection. There has been some delay in getting the wiring to move the microform readers near the microform cabinets but we hope to have that completed soon. The Media Collection will be moved to that location next summer.
The Media & Microforms Collection includes materials that require specialized equipment to view or listen as well as a small collection of current newspapers.
Media formats include DVD’s, CD’s, video cassettes and audio-cassettes. Movies, television programs, music, plays, poetry, and foreign language materials are collected primarily to support the academic program. Federal government and California government items on DVD and CD are also found in this location.
Microforms are printed resources such as newspapers and journals that have been converted to microfilm, microfiche and microcard. Microforms offer miniature versions of printed material and require a reader to make them legible. The collection also contains historic books and government documents in microformats.
