* Building the Library Collection *
Faculty are invited to make suggestions for additions to the Meriam Library collection. Each Department has a Book Chair (list located at http://www.csuchico.edu/lacq/dept/faculty.htm) who acts as liaison between the Department and the Library.

Books
Each department receives a small departmental allocation to purchase materials that do not come automatically through the “approval plan” – a service that matches new books to our curriculum profile and automatically sends the matches to us. If you would like to request a book you will find the book order form at http://www.csuchico.edu/lacq/dept/form.htm. Please fill out the request, print it or email it to your Book Chair liaison for consideration.
Journals
The journal collection including the electronic full text collection is over 13,000 titles. Like all other university libraries, we are dealing with journal price increases of about 15% per year. If a Department desires to add a new title to the collection, they must identify [a] print subscription[s] of equal value to trade for the new title. There is a journal request form at http://www.csuchico.edu/lacq/dept/subscription.htm.
Media/Non Print
The departmental allocation is not limited to books. Some departments are more interested in video DVD, CD-Rom, audio CD or other format. Use the book request form for these selections. The only qualifier is that the library does not support unusual or outdated formats or applications with complicated technological requirements. Please check with Limited Loan (sriazi@csuchico.edu or 898-5729) for information on supported formats.
Software

The Library does not purchase software for course related use. Faculty needing support for specific software applications in the general student labs should contact User Support Services. Departments maintain departmental labs.
