Legislative
Index
Provides a subject matter index of all legislative measures
for the current legislative session. The index indicates the
subject of each bill, constitutional amendment, and concurrent
or joint resolution as introduced and as amended.
Senate
and Assembly Final Histories
History of all senate/assembly bills, constitutional amendments,
concurrent, joint and resolutions introduced.
Daily File
Produced by the Assembly and Senate containing the Officers
of the respective houses, the Order of Business, tentative schedule
for the entire legislative session, bills which are scheduled
to be heard on the floor and during committee hearings.
Senate
and Assembly Journals and Appendices (Appendices published
through 1970)
Contains the proceedings of the Senate and Assembly (does not
include debate). Such proceedings include: the title of each
measure considered and vote, messages from the Governor and
Senate/Assembly, reports from Senate/Assembly committees and
other agencies as required by law, and the contents of petitions,
memorials, or other papers presented to and authorized by the
Senate and Assembly. Sometimes include Legislative Counsel opinions,
legislators' letters of intent and other communications about
bills.

Sections Affected (published w/Legislative Index)
Provides an index of each section of the Constitution, codes
and uncodified laws affected by measures introduced. The table
is arranged by codes and the Constitution listed in alphabetical
order.
Hearings
and Reports
Few committee reports are published and fewer hearings are transcribed.

are published in the Appendices of the Assembly and the Senate
Journals through 1970.

STATUTES
California Statutes/Chapters
California Statutes are the Chaptered Bills. A bill is "chaptered"
by the Secretary of State after it has passed through both houses
of the Legislature and has been signed by the Governor or becomes
law without the Governor's signature.
Summary Digest of Statutes Enacted and Resolutions Adopted
Consists of a short summary of each law enacted, and of each
concurrent or joint resolution adopted by the Legislature. The
text of the Summary Digest if arranged numerically by chapter
number.
