Authority: is the information authoritative?
   
Identify the credentials of the author(s) and the publication to establish the authority and credibility of the information. Ask yourself the following:
  
  • Who is the author/producer of the information
  • What are the credentials of the author/producer of the information?
  • Did the information come from an authoritative source?
  • How permanent is the information?
