What
is the Periodicals List?
The Periodicals List is an A-Z listing
of all the periodicals that the Meriam Library has physically in the
library as well as electronically online. It is one of two ways you can search to determine what journals the library subscribes to and if the article you need is available online, in print, or needs to be ordered. You can also use the Library Catalog to search for journal titles.

Illustration only - not a live screen
- You probably notice titles you are familiar with, such as National Geographic, which is a popular magazine. You may also see many titles you are not familiar with, such as National Guard or National Hog Farmer, which are specialized journals.
If you wanted to, you could page through screen by screen and look at all the titles in the list.
- All you have to do is click on the number 0 to get to the top of the list. Give yourself some time, because this a long list. The list contains over 20,000 titles!
Some Important Points:
- You cannot look up books in the Periodicals List. Use the Library Catalog to do that.
- If you have the citation to an article, you can check for availability by looking in the Periodical list or the Library Catalog for the title of the journal you need. When using the Library Catalog, you can limit your search to Journals/Newspapers by using the drop down arrow to the righ tof the search box.
