Priorities
  • Instruction given by library faculty or staff in the use of information systems, library materials, and library services, to students, faculty and staff of California State University, Chico.

  • Instruction given by Information Resources faculty or staff in the use of computer applications and software to students, faculty and staff of California State University, Chico.

  • Instruction given by classroomfaculty and staff in the use of information systems, library materials, library services, and computer applications and software to students, faculty, and staff of California State University, Chico.

  • Meetings to conduct Library business scheduled by Library Administration or by Library faculty or staff.

  • Meetings to conduct Information Resources business scheduled by the Vice Provost of Information Resources or Information Resources faculty or staff.
Policies

The Library Education Room may not be scheduled for meetings, classes, or events for departments outside of Information Resources. Exceptions can be made on a one-time basis with the approval of the Library Instruction Program Coordinator.

The Library Education Room may not be scheduled for meetings, classes, or events by students. Exceptions can be made on a one-time basis with the approval of the Library Instruction Program Coordinator.

Users outside of Information Resources may use equipment in the Library Education Room only with the express approval of either the Library Instruction Program Coordinator, the Director of Library Services, or a designee. Under no circumstances may the demonstration computers programming or software be altered by anyone without the consent of the Library Systems Office.

Use of the Library Education Room is directed by the Library Instruction Program Coordinator or designee. The Library Systems Office maintains the audiovisual and computing hardware.
Procedures

Requests for using the Library Education Room (MLIB 226) may be made in the following ways:

If the appropriate subject librarian is not available to teach the class, the scheduler will consult with the Library Instruction Program Coordinator to determine who will teach the class. When the instructor and the room have been confirmed, the scheduler will notify the requester. Only the scheduler can confirm a reservation request.
Equipment

User Responsibilities

Users of the LER should leave the room in an orderly condition. This includes turning off the computers and the projector, seeing that tables and chairs are returned to their original positions, returning books and indexes to their proper location, erasing the greaseboard, picking up extra handouts, turning off the lights, and locking the door.
