Inter-Disciplinary Orientation
To prepare students to participate in this $8 billion Localization industry we need to provide them with a skill set that is a blend of technological expertise, e-marketing, inter-cultural communication effectiveness, linguistic savvy, cultural understanding and international business orientation. Creating this diverse skill set could be challenging for any one department on the campus. We not only need cutting edge technological resources but we also need faculty members trained in such cross-disciplinary knowledge.
Our Inter-Departmental Partners:
- Department of Accounting and MIS: Provides our students training in Unicode, XML and other IT related topics.
- Department of Foreign Languages and Literature: Provides our students training in Foreign Languages and translation.
- The Center for Regional and Continuing Education: Provides our students an opportunity to attend the non-credit localization certification program workshop.
