New-to-the-Web User Information
This information is for users new to the World Wide Web.
If you are using a Macintosh, a PC running Windows, or a UNIX
workstation under X11, most likely you are using Netscape.
For users of computers that cannot display images you are using LYNX
and navigating instructions are located at the bottom of the screen.
In Netscape you will notice that certain items are underlined or may
be a different color. If you want to know more about an item, select it.
You may return to the previous page by clicking the Back icon
at the top of your screen or by selecting Back from the Go Menu.
The History dialog box traces where you have been. Select View History
from the Go Menu for a list of sites that you have visited.
Tips:
- If response time seems slow it may be due to inadequate disk space or
too many users on the network.
- Downloading images can consume a great deal of time and disk space. To
disable images go to the Options Menu and deselect Auto-load
Images.
- To interrupt data transfer click on the animated icon in the upper left
corner of the window or the Stop button.
