1j. Explanation of special characteristics of the degree-major program

(e.g., in terminology, units of credit required, types of course work).

Advising will be the responsibility of each of the Modern Jewish Studies programs in the consortium. Students must receive major advising in the first semester as a declared major and, for those declaring the major before then, during the first semester of their junior year.

Besides regularly scheduled classes to be held on various host campuses each semester, there are to be no fewer than three courses offered through various distance-learning technologies (such as CODEC or online materials) per semester.

A rotation agreement will be developed by the coordinating council to minimize duplication of offerings (see Administrative and Advising Plan in Appendix A).

Assessment is addressed in Appendix B.
