Registration Information

Registration for the BA in Modern Jewish Studies begins by meeting with the Jewish Studies advisor at your school. Once a class has been decided upon and approved by your advisor, enrollment in the onsite or distance education course happens in one of three ways:

  1. Onsite Enrollment. This is when the class is being offered at your home campus. For example, a CSU, Chico student registers for the class "as normal" through the real-time registration part of the Chico State Connection Portal. If you don't have a Portal account, please refer to Student Computing's Portal information page or contact the computing HelpDesk at 530-898-HELP.

  2. Distance Education through Concurrent Enrollment. After meeting with your local Jewish Studies advisor, you will fill out the "Intrasystem Concurrent Enrollment" form, pay your fees to (or certify your financial aid with) your "home"/onsite university, and submit the Concurrent Enrollment form to your "home"/onsite school. Once approved and you are admitted, you will enroll in the course as though you are an onsite CSU student of that intended school.

For example, for SDSU students to enroll in CSU, Chico classes, they must first pay their fees to SDSU, submit their forms to SDSU, get approvals from SDSU, and then follow the steps above for CSU, Chico Onsite Enrollment to enroll in the CSU, Chico distance education course.

  3. Non-Matriculated (Open University) Students through RCE. For all students not officially entered or admitted into the Consortial BA in Modern Jewish Studies at any CSU, you will need to contact the Regional and Continuing Education department at CSU, Chico prior to enrolling in any CSU, Chico classes.
