The Model Curriculum
Published by the Department of Education Press, "this
model curriculum supports the curriculum and instruction described
in the History–Social Science Framework. Since
then the history–social science curriculum has been reinforced
with academic content standards, and [the current] model curriculum
is supported by the history–social science content standards
that were adopted by the State Board of Education in 1998."
Teaching Resources
The Center acts as a one-stop resource for providing teachers
with updated curricular materials, survivor testimony, photography,
and other educational resources to support the Model Curriculum.
Special Events
Our future plans for the Center include providing teachers
with online courses, degrees, certificates, in-service courses,
and summer training sessions in hopes of ultimately providing
them with University credit applicable to online certificate
programs or towards the online MA in Holocaust and Genocide
Education at CSU, Chico.
Teacher Workshops
We also offer seminars, workshops,
speakers, and other events of interest.
About the Center
Review the Assembly Bills that put the Center for Excellence
in the Study of the Holocaust, Genocide, Human Rights, and
Tolerance in place as well as read about our mission for you
and what the Associated Press has to say about us.
Affiliated Centers and Websites
There are many centers and websites online that offer information
and help in planning your lesson plan on genocide. There's
so many sites that they can be hard to find, or difficult
to determine the validity of the content within each site.
Other sites focus on simply collaborating materials while
others offer specific lesson plans. We at the Center for Excellence
in the Study on the Holocaust, Genocide, Human Rights, and
Tolerance have gathered and collected numerous quality sites
to help you best in composing a successful, timely, and valuable
lesson about the Holocaust, Genocide, Human Rights, and Tolerance
for your students.
