2007 Men’s Lacrosse Coaching Staff

Paul Damon Rocchio

Head Coach

 

Coach Rocchio who took over the coaching duties in August 2006, has extensive coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels.  From 1980 to 1982 he was Middle School Lacrosse Coach at Moses Brown School. In 1988 he was Goalie Coach for the Varsity Boys Lacrosse Team and Head Junior Varsity Coach at Middlesex School.  He was Assistant Coach (1991), and Head Coach (1992), of the Woodstock High School Lacrosse team and Head Lacrosse Coach at Tilton School from 2001 to 2003.  Most recently (2003 to 2004) he was Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Denison University where he was responsible for the defense and goalies. His career coaching record is 38 wins and only 18 losses.

 

Coach Rocchio received his B. S. Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and his M. S. Degree in Engineering (Business and Engineering Management) from Dartmouth College.  He is the President and Founder of Damon Enterprises, L.L.C. and is currently an Instructor in Mathematics and Engineering at Chico State.

 

Emmett Lazaro

Assistant Coach

 

Coach Lazaro was Captain of his high school lacrosse team in Maryland and was on the All-County Team.  He played attack for the University of Maryland, Baltimore County was a tri-captain and an All-American, and played in the NCAA North-South game.  Coach Lazaro also has played on club teams in Maryland and in Chicago. He coached Little League and Junior League Lacrosse in Maryland for three years and referred for three years.

 

He received a BS degree in Sociology and an MS degree in Business from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and is currently Global Supply Chain Director for Bell-Carter Olives in Corning.

 

Dick Flory

Assistant Coach

 

Coach Flory coached the Chico State Men’s Lacrosse team from 1987 until 1994 and has been Secretary of the Western Collegiate Lacrosse League since 1991.  He led the team to a Division II Championship in 1989 and was Division II Coach of the Year in the WCLL the same year. In 2001 he was elected to the Chico State Lacrosse Hall of Fame and in 2002 he was the recipient of the United States Lacrosse, Men’s Division Intercollegiate Association National Service Award.  Dr. Flory is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences at Chico State.
