Summer Music Camp 2008

The Collective Sound Summer Music Academy will have 2 sessions at CSU Chico. Both sessions include the Element Youth Movement CoOp Tour.

Session 1: $3,500 July 6- July 25
(fees include housing and food)

Session 2: $3,500 July 20 - August 8
(fees include housing and food

ARRIVAL INFO JULY 20th:

Registration will run from 1-7 pm on July 20th. Students should plan on arriving early enough before 7 to get settled into their rooms. Parents are welcome, but can feel free to leave as soon as their child has gone through the registration process at Craig Hall.

FLYING TO CHICO:

Getting from the Chico (CIC) Airport to the CSU Chico Campus
United Express has daily flights into Chico. We will be providing transportation for all students flying directly into Chico airport.

FLYING TO SACRAMENTO:

Getting from The Sacramento (SMF) Airport to the CSU Chico Campus
Sacramento Airport is the nearest major airport, approximately 1.5 hours away. North Valley Shuttle is available to take students from the Sacramento Airport to the Chico State campus. This shuttle is a third party service and is not included in the cost of attending TCS. We will have a chaperone at the Sacramento Airport directing students to the North Valley Shuttle. One-way and/or round trip tickets are available and must be purchased in advance. Please check shuttle times before scheduling your child’s flight.

WHAT TO BRING

Class:

  • Everyone will need headphones (earbud/ipod type is fine) for the computer lab
  • Instrument Requirements
    • Guitarists/Bassists – guitar and cable (Optional items: effects pedals)
    • Drummers – sticks (Optional items: preferred cymbals, kick pedal, or double bass pedal)
    • Singers/Keyboard – a smile. (Optional items: preferred keyboard or mic)
  • Pencil and note pad

Dorms:

Rooms are double occupancy, with girls and boys staying in separate areas. You may request a roommate; otherwise, rooms will be assigned based on age groups.

  • Clothes for warm weather, Chico is hot in the summer (90-105), Craig Hall does have a swimming pool onsite
  • Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Soap, Shampoo, Deodorant, etc.
  • Clothing (something nice for performances).
  • Towel, bed linens will be provided
  • Spending money for snacks, vending machines, payphones, laundry etc.
  • Cellphones, Ipods, and laptops are allowed in dorms only and are considered a privilege that will be revoked if abused.
  • A backpack or carry on size bag to use for tour.

 

LEAVING TCS

The YMC Tour will finish in Sacramento on August 8th around 8pm, additional Tour Info at:

On Friday Aug 8th you can either pick up your child in Sacramento (at 8pm) or in Chico (at 11pm).

If an overnight stay in Chico is preferred on Aug 8th, “late checkout” can be arranged for $50 for additional nights housing and food. We can accommodate transportation to Chico airport and shuttles from North Valley Shuttle will be available for Sacramento airport.
