Music Industry
The Music Industry Program, an option in our General Music BA degree, is one of the country’s five largest and is the biggest in the West. The curriculum includes courses in music industry, technology, music, and business. The practical learning component includes the student-run Wild Oak Music Group, including Wild Oak Records, Wild Oak Concerts, Wild Oak Artist Management, Wild Oak Songwriter's Guild, Oak Leaf CD Duplication, and internships in the United States, Europe, and Asia. We produce eight to ten major shows or music industry events every year. Graduates of our program are employed at major and independent record labels, major artist management firms, nationally-renowned recording studios and mastering facilities, wholesale and retail musical equipment and instrument sales companies, national concert promoters and music festivals, and are touring as engineers and road managers for national acts. Other graduates are earning master's degrees in business/music industry, and many have become successful music industry entrepreneurs.
