Music Education

Please note: admissions to the Music Education program have been suspended and is not accepting new majors for the 2012-2013 academic year.

If you are considering a career as a music educator, consider the Music Education program at Chico State. We prepare students to meet the challenges of teaching through a combination of courses and field experiences. Graduates leave our program with the preparation needed to enter the Credential Program as well as the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in the K-12 music classroom. Our music education faculty has a wealth of experience working in various school settings and all are active in state and national education organizations. Our award-winning student chapter of the Music Educators National Association will give you the opportunity to expand your school experiences beyond the University through attendance at conventions and in-service projects. This is an outstanding program. We welcome anyone who is interested in the music education profession.
