Proficiency/Placement Exams

Piano/Keyboard Proficiency Exam*

  • Time: 9:00 a.m. - Noon

Theory Placement Exam*

  • Time: 1:00-3:00 p.m.
  • Location: GLN 304

Aural Skills Exam*

  • Time: 3:00-4:00 p.m.
  • Location: PAC 206

*Note: You are required to take the theory, aural skills, and piano proficiency exam unless you plan to take Music 101, Music 103, and Music 105. These exams are for evaluation and course placement purposes for those with experience.

SIGN UP SHEETS will be posted in the Music Department Office (PAC 106) beginning Monday, August 3. Please stop by, or call the department office if you are out of town, to sign up for an exam/audition/ interview time. Make sure you have made the appropriate meeting appointments.

New Music Major Meeting

Friday, August 21

Ensemble auditions will be held during the week prior to the beginning of the semester and the first week of classes. Check with the appropriate ensemble director and/or the Music Department Office for scheduled times.

 

Advising is critically important to your college career. Be sure to schedule a meeting with your advisor at least once each semester. The Faculty Advisors are:

Students in the Recording Arts and Music Composition Options are required to purchase an Apple Computer bundle.

Current and new Pre-Recording Arts students will only be required to make the purchase once accepted to the Recording Arts Option. Music Compositions students will need to purchase the bundle prior to enrolling in MUSC 241: Fundamentals of Digital Audio . ALL students can participate in the bundle purchase.
