Carmen Gomez (Production Manager for School of the Arts) received her BFA in Theatre Design from TCU in 1999 and her MFA in Theatre Design from Texas Tech University in 2002.  After completing her formal education, Carmen worked as a professional scenic painter before accepting a faculty design position at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, FL. There she enjoyed five years of teaching and designing as well as starting and running a non-for-profit Shakespeare company with her beloved husband. After that, she joined the Theatre and Dance Department at The George Washington University in Washington D.C. During those four years, Carmen had the honor of working with a number of organizations including The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian and Sitar Arts Center. Following her time on the east coast, Carmen travelled to the west coast to become the production manager for the Department of Theatre, Film and Digital Production at University of California, Riverside. In her four plus years at UCR, Carmen learned a great deal about production management and film. She landed in Chico in January of 2017 and has loved becoming part of Chico and California State University communities. Go Wildcats!
