Commitment to Technology
One of the five CSU, Chico Strategic Priorities states: Believing in the value of the wise use of new technologies in learning and teaching, we will continue to provide the technology, the related training, and the support needed to create and maintain high quality learning environments for learners. This priority is addressed through Chico's Smart Classroom program, faculty workstations, faculty training and development in technology through the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) and the Technology and Learning Program (TLP), and grants and resources for innovative teaching with technology. Additional information about the university's commitment to technology can by found in the Information Technology Strategic Plan.
School of Education faculty members demonstrate theircommitment to technology through the use of smart classrooms, the modeling of uses of technology in their own teaching, the development of fully and partially online courses, and through a variety of learning activities designed to help candidates integrate the use of technology into their educational practice.
