California State University, Chico’s 2007 Fun Without Alcohol Fair will offer interactive booths and entertainment to approximately 1,000 area youths on the Kendall Hall lawn and adjoining areas.

The event is proceeding today, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. despite the possibility of rain.

Now in its 18th year, the fair is designed to encourage healthy alternatives to alcohol, drug and tobacco for school-age children. The fair is free to children attending with their class, or with a parent or guardian.
The fair is organized by CSU, Chico’s Campus Alcohol and Drug Education Center (CADEC). Booths staffed by campus and community groups promote an alcohol- or drug-free message, teach children a healthy lifestyle fact or encourage kids to resist peer pressure to use substances.

Additional information about the fair is available by contacting CADEC at 530-898-6450.
