Families, students, and community members are welcome to take part in this informational and festive event. Emcee Clint Bolden will discuss the seven principles of Kwanzaa and explain the history and purpose of the celebration. Guests will be invited to participate in a “Release and Forgiveness” ceremony.
Entertainment and light refreshments will follow the celebration. For more information, call 898-4101 or e-mail cultural@csuchico.edu.
The Cross-Cultural Leadership Center is a program of Student Activities, a division of Student Affairs. The event is co-sponsored by Women of Excellence, Men of Honor, Kappa Alpha Psi and the Multicultural Affairs Council.
The Cross-Cultural Leadership Center officially opened on Sept. 24 and is located in University Center next to the Office of Disabled Student Services. Charles Carter, director of cross-cultural and leadership programs, said the purpose of the CCLC is to create respectful relationships across cultures. “We want the center to be a place for people to belong,” Carter said. “We want to build a community that is respected, connected and affirmed.”
