Fall Museum Without Walls Programs Announced

The Northern California Natural History Museum (NCNHM) at California State University, Chico will present its Fall Museum Without Walls presentation series beginning in October.

The theme of the series is “It’s All In Your Head,” and features four dynamic programs, said Greg Liggett, executive director, NCNHM. “The programs will cover basic science, anatomy and physiology, and issues related to health and disease. They are designed to be enjoyed by a general audience,” said Liggett.

Each program will be on a Thursday evening in October at the Chico Area Recreation District building, 545 Vallombrosa Ave in Chico, beginning at 7:30 pm. A donation of $3 per adult is requested. Students with an ID are free.

On Oct. 4, Ophthalmologist Heidi Houlihan, MD, will present a program on eyes and eye health titled “I Only Have Eyes for You.”

On Oct. 11, Neurologist Stephen Forner, MD, will present “Migraine—It’s Not Just a Headache.”

On Oct. 18, Endocrinologist Leena Singh, MD, PhD, will discuss the intricacies of the thyroid gland in a program titled “Thyroid Power!”

Finally, on Oct. 25, Audiologist Crystal Chalmers, MS, will present “Your Ears: Gateway to the Brain, Hearing, Learning, and Understanding.”

The programs are sponsored by Enloe Medical Center, North Valley MRI & CT Center, Creative Composition, Marcia Moore, John and Renee McAmis, Gary and Judy Sitton, Price and Brown Attorneys, and the Association of Geology and Environmental Students at Chico State.
