Prospective Students to Preview CSU, Chico Campus on Oct. 25

The CSU received record numbers of applications this year and, as a result, the competition for acceptance is great. Preview day is designed to help students firm up their decisions about colleges and help them focus their energy on their top choices.
All academic programs and service offices will have representatives at the information fair. Academic departments will have faculty available to talk to students about majors and programs. Representatives from student support services, including the Educational Opportunity Program, Student Health Service, Athletics, Student Activities, Advising and Career Planning, will be on hand.
Families interested in information about housing will be able to tour a residence hall. Financial aid experts will be available to provide information about financing education and available scholarships.
“Given the large number of applications that Chico State is expecting this year,” said Wendy Needels, assistant director of Admissions and event coordinator, “visiting campus is still the best way students can decide what school best fits them. Students who attend this event really get a chance to visit with representatives from every academic department on campus. It is an opportunity to get an in-depth look at majors, talk with faculty and meet representatives from student groups.”
The day begins with a welcome from CSU, Chico President Paul Zingg at 9:30 am in Laxson Auditorium. Prospective students and families can then take a tour, visit with department representatives or attend a financial aid workshop.
