MSN.com has picked Chico for its list of the top eight college towns in the United States. In a story published March 29 titled “College Towns: An Honor Roll,” MSN.com asks “What’s not to love about Chico?” and mentions that Chico “is often called one of America’s greenest cities.”
Other college towns cited in the article are Athens, Ga., Burlington, Vt., Ithaca, N.Y., Lawrence, Kan., Missoula, Mont., Northampton, Mass., and Oberlin, Ohio.
The article can be found at http://local.msn.com/article.aspx?cp-documentid=23721732.
In the April 2010 issue of Men’s Journal, Chico is featured among the “Best Places to Live 2010.” In its article on Chico, the magazine states, “College and community mesh so neatly in Chico that the would-be Sacramento Valley farm town has more than a little in common with eastern brick-and-ivy burgs, with its leafy streets, coffee-houses, and arched brick campus buildings in the middle of town.”
