CSU, Chico Students Place at Regional Sales Competition

In addition to hosting the Western States Collegiate Sales Competition on Saturday, April 17, California State University, Chico business students placed second as a team in the competition, and two individual members received awards.

Seventy students from six Western colleges, including CSU, Chico, competed in simulated sales situations based on real companies and typical sales challenges for those companies. The students are members of the Professional Sales Program in the College of Business.

The individual winners from CSU, Chico are Gillian Leeds, who placed second and received a $1,000 prize, and Brittany Fortune, who placed first in the ADP scenario and won a $300 prize.

The top three teams in the competition were CSU, Fullerton, CSU, Chico and Arizona State University.

The competition was sponsored by ADP, Liberty Mutual, TEK Systems, Federated Insurance, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Northwestern Mutual, the CSU, Chico chapter of the American Marketing Association and the College of Business and the Professional Sales Program at CSU, Chico.
