The mission of Gateway Science Museum is to create a life-long learning environment that enables people to explore, interpret and celebrate the magnificent natural history of our region through science, research and education. This goal is true for visitors, staff and volunteers. Thousands of volunteer hours have been contributed by hundreds of members of our community since the original idea of the museum began. This support has been instrumental in making the museum the engaging and educational Northern California destination that it is today.
Additional volunteer opportunities are available in many areas of the museum's operations, including docents in exhibit galleries, educational program development, grant writing and office management/administrative assistance. Gateway welcomes volunteers on both short-term and long-term projects, depending on the interests and availability of volunteers.
More information about opportunities to volunteer at the museum is on the GSM website at http://www.csuchico.edu/gateway/participate/volunteering.shtml
Gateway Science Museum is open Wednesday – Sunday, noon to 5 p.m., and is located at 625 Esplanade. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children and free for museum members. For more information, please visit www.gatewayscience.org or check out our Facebook page.
