The Center for Nutrition and Activity Promotion (CNAP) will host two open houses on Oct. 24 in recognition of its five years as a center and the 10-year anniversary for the OPT for Healthy Living program and the Sierra Cascade Nutrition and Activity Consortium. Both events are free and open to the public.

The open houses are also in recognition of the First Annual National Food Day. World Food day is a nationwide push for healthy, affordable food produced in a sustainable, humane way.

There will be free tasting of locally grown fruits and vegetables, a farmer-of-the-month video, a harvest-of-the-month tasting of butternut squash muffins and other interesting activities.

The second event is an open house for from 2–6 p.m. at the OPT for Healthy Living offices at 1311 Mangrove, suite E. Activities at the open house include an ask-the-expert section featuring two registered Dietitians, cooking demonstrations with tastings, and a community resource station.
