Annual Adapted Physical Education Sports Day Tomorrow, Oct. 28

Approximately 80 to 100 school-aged athletes from five surrounding counties will attend the 11th annual Adapted Physical Education Sports Day held at CSU, Chico on Friday, Oct. 28. The Sports Day runs from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 pm. in Shurmer and Acker Gymnasiums. The Adapted Physical Education program in the Department of Kinesiology is the host for the day.  

The Sports Day is for individuals with disabilities, including physical and sensory disabilities. Kinesiology students taking coursework in adapted physical activity and outdoor education are in charge of facilitating the events.

Fifty activity stations, including the climbing wall, wheelchair-specific sports and skill-development games make up the sporting atmosphere for the athletes.
