Manufacturing Students Will Demonstrate Grand Prize–Winning Bike Chain Guide and Bash Guard Wednesday

The CSU, Chico student SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers) club will be presenting their award-winning project this Wednesday, April 20, at 10 a.m. on the California State University, Chico campus in O’Connell 436.

The students in the Chico SME chapter designed and manufactured the tooling and full production system for a mountain bike chain guide and bash guard. He project took the students months of their own time.

Students representing the CSU, Chico Sustainable Manufacturing Program won the Grand Prize at the prestigious SME Challenge on April 5, the 11th time a CSU, Chico team has won the top award. The challenge was held at the AeroDef Manufacturing Convention at Anaheim Convention Center.
