English Students’ Films Focus on Digital Culture

Students from California State University, Chico’s Educational Opportunity Program will be showing short films about digital culture and literacy Tuesday, May 10, 4-6:30 p.m. in Harlen Adams Theatre.

The Rough Cut Short Film Event: Academic Writing Meets Digital Culture screening will end at approximately 5:30 p.m. followed by a reception in the Performing Arts Center courtyard. The public is invited to attend.

The students are enrolled in the Department of English Academic Writing course (English 130) and have been focusing on research in digital culture. CSU, Chico’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is designed to improve the access and retention of low-income and first-generation college students at the University.

The students’ short films will present research and insights they have developed in relation to digital literacy, digital citizenship, remix culture and a variety of related topics.
