CSU, Chico Hosts Rural Jobs Forum Tomorrow

The Center for Economic Development (CED) and California State University, Chico are hosting the Rural Jobs Forum on Friday, Jan. 14 in room 210 of the Bell Memorial Union.

The forum, which runs from 9­ to 11 a.m., with check-in at 8:45 a.m., is an open town hall meeting to solicit input from community leaders on the issues of jobs and economic development in California’s rural communities.

The public is invited and anyone with a special interest in this area is especially encouraged to attend.

Glenda Humiston, state director of Rural Development, U.S. Department of Agriculture, will speak and facilitate the discussion on resource-based industries, including agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
