National Campus Sustainability Day 2012 at Chico State

Come join California State University, Chico as it celebrates the 10th annual National Campus Sustainability Day Wednesday, Oct. 24. The Institute for Sustainable Development, the Associated Students (AS) Sustainability Program, and Facilities Management and Services are the organizers of the local celebration of a day that is observed by colleges and universities across the nation. It is sponsored by the Higher Education Associations Sustainability Consortium.

CSU, Chico was recently named to the Princeton Green Guide’s Honor Roll. An open house in the Bell Memorial Union (BMU) Auditorium from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. will feature displays highlighting the programs and practices that brought this national recognition. These sustainability efforts reach across campus—to facilities management, academics, housing, dining, the AS and campus governance.

Campus Sustainability Day at CSU, Chico is a time to learn about existing and new campus initiatives and offers an opportunity to connect with like-minded people and get more actively involved in programs on campus. 

“Together, we’re moving society forward to a sustainable future,” said Eli Goodsell, AS program coordinator for sustainability. “I’m proud of Chico State for being a model of sustainable practices and for being an important part of the larger movement. Together we are strong.”

A walking tour of campus will take place at the end of the open house. Space is limited, so sign up at the open house welcome table early in the day. Meet in the plaza in front of the BMU.
