Adapted Physical Education Sports Day on Friday

The 12th annual Physical Education Sports Day will be held tomorrow, Oct. 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. One hundred school-aged athletes from five surrounding counties will gather in California State University, Chico’s Shurmer Gymnasium for games of skill and fun.

This is a day of sport for individuals with disabilities, including physical and sensory disabilities. Kinesiology students taking coursework in adapted physical activity and outdoor education run events for the athletes.

Fifty activity stations including the climbing wall, wheelchair-specific sports and skill development games make up the sporting atmosphere for the athletes. 

Activities will be held at the climbing wall and Yolo Hall field areas in addition to Shurmer Gymnasium.
