CSU, Chico Wins 2012 Western States Collegiate Sales Competition

The WSCSC is a venue for students in the College of Business' Professional Sales Program to compete against students from western and mid-western university sales programs. Held in the Student Services Center, with special hosting provided by the Career Center, the all-day event drew approximately 80 participants and 10 corporate sponsors.
Casey Donoho, Department of Finance and Marketing, coached the CSU, Chico team, which included team members Kevin Beaumonte, Brittany Brennecke, Ciara Bronson, Christopher Dunphy, Sierra Fox, Keith Morse and Joseph Schwarz.
In corporate competitions, CSU, Chico students were five of the top six ADP finalists and finished second in the TEKsystems Team Sales Presentations.
The overall competition rankings:
- 1st Place: CSU, Chico - 89.94 points
- 2nd Place: CSU, Fullerton - 81.84 points
- 3rd Place: Washington State, Vancouver - 80.51

- 1st Place: Brittany Brennecke (CSU, Chico)
- 2nd Place: Kevin Beaumonte (CSU, Chico)
- 3rd Place: Christopher Dunphy (CSU, Chico)

“The student team members performed superbly. In addition, there were many student volunteers and faculty members who offered moral support,” said Tim Heinze, director, Professional Sales Program. “We can all be very proud of Chico State and thankful to be part of the Chico Experience.”
Corporate sponsors were ADP, TEKsystems, Marcus & Millichap, LifeScan, Victaulic, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Federated Insurance, Frito-Lay, Paramount Solar and Southern Wine and Spirits.
Established in 2005, the Western States Collegiate Sales Competition provides an opportunity for students, company recruiters and faculty to interact in a spirit of competition, collegiality and professionalism. The competition draws the best sales students in the West. It also provides recruiting opportunities for contest sponsors. The Professional Sales Program at California State University, Chico, hosts the event. CSU, Chico has won first place for two of the past three years.
