Wells Fargo Gives $100,000 for Small Business Workshops
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
A news conference detailing the gift will be held in the Bell Memorial Union room 210 at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Refreshments will be provided. Donald Terry, vice president and community development officer, Government and Community Relations for Wells Fargo & Co., and Dan Ripke, director, Northeastern California SBDC and Center for Economic Development, will provide remarks.
The goal of the Advanced Small Business Financial Management workshops is to help small-business owners understand their financial situation and prepare themselves for growth and expansion.
The workshops will help participants become more sophisticated borrowers, prepare loan-ready small-business owners and increase the number of small-business owners who have access to capital, thus improving the area’s economic climate through job creation.
In addition to the workshops, small-business owners will also have access to one-on-one business consulting services and comparative financial analysis of their small business offered by a local Northeastern California SBDC office.
Ripke said Wells Fargo is a vital partner with the Northeastern California SBDC network, working closely with small-business owners interested in expanding into new markets, creating innovative products and growing their operations. The Northeastern California SBDC centers and staff look forward to working with Wells Fargo to help support regional entrepreneurs and small-business owners, he said.
The workshops will be held in regional Northeastern California SBDC offices in Sacramento, Yuba City, Chico and Redding, as well as additional outreach locations to be determined.
“Wells Fargo is committed to helping our customers and communities succeed financially,” said Natasha Mata, Wells Fargo area president for the Four Rivers Market. “We are thrilled to be partnering with the Northeastern SBDC to help more small-business owners get the skills they need to start and grow their businesses.”
