Special community events, renewed friendships and a love of all things Chico are all in store during the fourth annual Chico Experience Week, Oct. 4-13.

Nearly 100 events will take place around Chico and California State University, Chico, from the unveiling of the latest Chico Experience print from noted artist Jake Early on Friday, Oct. 4, to the Richard Cionco piano concert on Sunday, Oct. 13.

"There is so much to celebrate about Chico, and The Chico Experience Week brings together the campus and community for 10 days of wonderful activities,” said Susan Anderson, director, Alumni and Parent Relations. “No matter what your interests — arts and entertainment, sports, kid's activities, nonprofit events or campus reunions — there is truly something for everyone."

For all events and ticket information, go to www.csuchico.edu/chicoexperience or call 530-898-6472.

Several special alumni events are planned, including reunions for the College of Natural Sciences and for black alumni; the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program’s 65th Anniversary Celebration; and the Class of 1963’s Golden Grad Reunion and Celebration.

Other notable university events include the Wildcat Cruise, a bicycle tour of Chico beginning on campus; the annual Family Weekend Barbecue, welcoming approximately 1,200 students and their guests; Regional and Continuing Education’s open house; and numerous arts and athletics events throughout the week.

Sponsored by the Chico State Alumni Association, the Chico Experience Week is a collaboration among campus groups and local organizations and businesses. Included during the Chico Experience Week are popular community events such as Sierra Oro Farm Trail's Passport Weekend; Downtown Harvest Sidewalk Sale; National Yo-Yo Contest; Artoberfest; and Chico Car-Free Day.

Local partners include the Downtown Chico Business Association, the Chico Chamber of Commerce, Chico Artoberfest, Chico Paper Co. and the Sierra Oro Farm Trail.
