California State University, Chico ranked in the top third among online bachelor degree programs in the U.S. News & World Report annual assessment. The magazine ranked the online academic programs of national private and public universities that responded to surveys on factors such as graduation rates, best practices, faculty credentials, student debt and support services offered to students.

U.S. News & World Report sent statistical questionnaires to 1,767 colleges and universities that grant bachelor’s degrees and received survey responses from 939 institutions. Only accredited, degree-granting institutions offering courses that are entirely online were considered in the rankings.
