Public Invited to Attend Community Action Summit

Following a message by civic leaders decrying the damage done by alcohol abuse, a community action summit will be held Friday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Bell Memorial Auditorium on the California State University, Chico campus.

To participate in the Community Action Summit, go to this website to register. Any community member concerned about alcohol and drug abuse in our area is urged to attend. Lunch and parking will be provided for registrants.

The goal of the day will be to invite participants to express their views on the issues and possible solutions, with breakout sessions to focus on topics in greater depth.

Last month, 28 civic leaders published A Call for Community Action, calling on our community to address issues of alcohol and drug abuse. Elected officials, business owners, law enforcement officers, students, faculty members and teachers, parents and health professionals are among those community members expected to attend the Community Action Summit.
