Spring 2013 MWOW Lecture Series Begins April 3

It is time to discover how to get healthy and be entertained, all at once! Gateway Science Museum presents the spring 2013 Museum Without Walls lecture series: “Medicine in Motion: The Science of Sports.” Don’t miss this exciting and informative lecture series aimed at exploring the many aspects of health and physiology. 

This installment of Gateway’s annual lecture series highlights several areas associated with sports and active living, including sports-related injuries, injury recovery and weight management. Presentations will take place on four consecutive Wednesday evenings beginning April 3 and ending April 24, 2013.

Presentations begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Gateway Science Museum, located at 625 Esplanade in Chico, next to Bidwell Mansion.

This year’s MWOW series lineup includes:

April 3: Josh Trout, Ph.D., California State University, Chico Department of Kinesiology
“The Skinny on Fat: Myths, Facts & Realities”

April 10: Dr. Scott Nichols, Enloe Behavioral Health
“Motion/Emotion: Improving Health by Having Fun”

April 17: Penelope Kuhn, Ph.D., CSU, Chico, Psychology Department
“Sport-Induced Central Nervous System Injury”

April 24: David Valponi, PT, Valponi & Wagner Physical Therapy
“Common Overuse Syndromes: Cause and Prevention”

A donation of $3 per adult is requested. Students are free with valid student ID card.
