Registration Open Now for Summer 2013 Gateway Discovery Camps

The first camp session, “Eco-Kids,” will be held June 24–28 and is geared toward children entering grades four and five. Campers will practice environmental stewardship while doing fun hands-on activities involving solar cooking, renewable energy sources, composting and making art with robots. The cost for this session is $175 with lunches and snacks provided.
“Eco-Rangers” runs July 15–19 and is open to youth entering grades six through eight. “Eco-Rangers” will investigate principles of environmental stewardship by delving deeper into science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), while learning about natural resource management, building wind turbines, robotics programming and more. The cost for this session is $185, and lunches and snacks will be provided.
Registration forms are available online now at www.gatewayscience.org and at the Gateway Science Museum, located at 625 Esplanade near Bidwell Mansion in Chico. The Gateway Science Museum is open noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children and free for museum members.
