More than 1,700 prospective California State University, Chico students and their family members are expected to attend the 23rd annual Chico Preview Day on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Admitted CSU, Chico students and their families are invited to participate in campus tours, learn about University programs and gain valuable financial aid and scholarship knowledge. An information fair inside the Bell Memorial Union (BMU) Auditorium will bring representatives from all academic and student departments together in one room from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Wendy Needels, assistant director in the Office of Admissions, noted that having so many campus resources on hand at one time makes the information fair a must-attend event for prospective students.

“You won’t have all those offices under one roof again,” Needels said. “It is really convenient and easy for prospective students and their families to get answers to all of their questions.”

Chico Preview Day check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. in the BMU Auditorium, followed by an official welcome by University President Gayle E. Hutchinson and Wildcat Ambassador Jerad Prevost at 9:30 a.m. inside Laxson Auditorium.

Additionally, 45-minute campus tours start at 8:30 a.m. and happen every 30 minutes, starting from the BMU Courtyard (facing Second Street). Other tours throughout the day include University Housing, the Wildcat Recreation Center, Meriam Library and the Gateway Science Museum, as well as multiple drop-in times for University departments and programs such as Study Abroad and the Wildcat Leadership Institute.

Campus visitors may park for free in any of the University parking lots, as well as along street and metered parking around campus and downtown Chico. They’re also encouraged to look for and use the hashtag #chicopreviewday when sharing on social media.
