Thousands to Flock to Campus on April 8 for Choose Chico!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Office of Admissions
Hosted by CSU, Chico’s Office of Admissions, the open-house event from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. gives students who have been admitted for the fall 2017 semester and their families a chance to explore the campus and town and interact with faculty, staff and current students.
In-person registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Bell Memorial Union Auditorium and is followed by welcome addresses from University President Gayle E. Hutchinson at 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. in Laxson Auditorium. Other activities include tours of the campus and residence halls, a student involvement fair and financial aid, University Housing and honors program presentations, in addition to meetings with representatives from various colleges and departments. General sessions and tours will also be available in Spanish.
Choose Chico! is a highly recommended preview day for students still making their final college choice, said Adam Stoltz, director for the Office of Admissions.
“Choose Chico! is a great way to visit campus and Chico and see all the University has to offer,” Stoltz said. “With our top-ranked academic opportunities, outstanding faculty, supportive campus and student-centered learning environment, Chico State is a great choice for many students.”
This signature annual event aims to support students as they make one of the most important decisions of their lives thus far, Stoltz said.
“Choose Chico! allows admitted students the opportunity to visit our beautiful, residential campus and picture themselves as a future Wildcat. Thanks to our entire campus community as everyone works hard this day to help make that decision a little easier,” he said.
A special hashtag, #choosechico, is available for social media users to chronicle their experiences that day. Today is the last day to register online. More information about the event can be found at http://www.csuchico.edu/admissions/choose_chico.shtml.
