Ribbon Cutting for New Office Complex and Parking Structure

Chico Mayor Ann Schwab and CSU, Chico Vice President for Business and Finance Lori Hoffman will speak at the event.
The total cost for the Office Complex and Parking Structure is $13.4 million. The project was begun in August 2011. Parking in the structure has been open since the fall semester started in August 2012, and campus tenants are currently moving into the office complex.
The 7,800-square-foot office complex will house the University Police Department, the Office of Environmental Health and Safety and the Information Center.
The four-story parking structure includes 359 automobile parking spaces, 248 bicycle spaces and 11 motorcycle spaces. Some of the alternative energy features are 10 electric vehicle plug-in charging stations and a 78 kWh photovoltaic array.
The project was designed to meet the standards of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver level of certification. Ninety-two percent of the construction waste was recycled and diverted from landfills, and 20 percent of new construction material was made of recycled content.
Otto Construction was the contractor on the project, and Williams + Paddon was the architectural firm.
