CSU, Chico Wins Five Awards for Excellence in Advancement Programs and Publications

The awards were given for high quality demonstrated in the University’s print and online publications as well as in graphic identity systems and design.
CASE District VII includes Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, Nevada, Northern Mariana Islands and Utah. CASE provides advancement professionals in the areas of alumni relations, communications, development and marketing with support, educational programming and current best practices in the industry.
CSU, Chico received a Gold Award in the Visual Identity Systems category for the graphic design elements of the University’s 125th anniversary visual identity.
The University received Silver Awards for the online version of the spring 2012 Chico Statements, the University’s magazine, in the Digital Magazines category, and for the Recreation, Hospitality and Parks Management Reunion Poster in the Excellence in Design: Posters category.
CSU, Chico received Bronze Awards for the spring 2012 cover of Chico Statements in the Excellence in Design: Covers category and for the print version of the 2012 President’s Report in the Print President’s Reports and Annual Reports category.
“These publications and graphic design projects were judged to be some of the best from the western region of the United States,” said Rick Ellison, vice president for University Advancement. ”I am very proud of the outstanding team of staff members who worked on these programs.”
The awards were announced last week and will be presented March 2 at the CASE District VII meeting in San Francisco.
CASE awards are given for excellence in communications and marketing programs, special program publications packages, photography, design and special events.
The CASE Awards of Excellence Committee included judges from UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Riverside, Pomona College and Brigham Young University.
Chico has a history of winning top awards from CASE. Two years ago, CSU, Chico won gold for the Chico Experience Week Pocket Media Guide and Poster, the fall 2009 Chico Statements cover photo and Turner Museum donor recognition. The prior year, the University won gold for the Gateway Science Museum’s Paver Program. Over the past three years, CSU, Chico has won a total of 19 Awards of Excellence.
