CSU, Chico Up ’til Dawn Is Top in Nation for Fifth Time
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Although the University of Memphis won the national collegiate competition last year, CSU, Chico won the four previous years. This year’s Up ’til Dawn fundraising event total is $106,261.42.
More than 2,000 students participate in the Up ’til Dawn event, addressing letters to friends and family with a request for donations to St. Jude. CSU, Chico is known for its volunteer programs and commitment to service. Up ’til Dawn is one way that students, especially those new to campus, can become involved in this culture of giving.
“Chico State is a community where service is highly valued. To see the campus come together to support this amazing cause makes me incredibly proud to be a Wildcat,” said Tray Robinson, director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and co-advisor to Up ’til Dawn. “I look forward to defending our title next year, because when we win, the hospital wins.”
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is dedicated to research and treatment that help find cures for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Families do not pay for treatment. Up ’til Dawn is a team challenge in which 250 colleges and universities around the country compete. CSU, Chico has participated for 11 years.
