CSU, Chico Sales Program Named to National List of Top Universities

California State University, Chico’s professional sales program has been named to the national Sales Education Foundation’s (SEF) list of 2013 Top University Sales Programs. The list recognizes universities for preparing students for professional selling careers and placing top talent in professional selling roles.   

The 2013 list will be featured in the next issue of Selling Power, SEF’s magazine, due out this week. This year marks the third time in five years that CSU, Chico has been recognized. California State University, Fullerton was the only other CSU to make the list.

Factors considered in making the list include having a University Sales Center Alliance-certified sales curriculum, sales faculty ratios, sales class sizes, sales advisory board, physical facilities, and internship opportunities and job placement.

Timothy Heinze, CSU, Chico professor and director of the Professional Sales Program, says the recognition sets CSU, Chico sales graduates apart from others.

“Being recognized as a top program assures our corporate recruiters that they are getting the best sales talent in the West when they recruit a Chico State sales student,” said Heinze. “Chico State sales students not only understand theory, but they also learn how to apply that theory in practical ways. This enables them to hit the ground running when they leave Chico and begin their professional careers.”

In April, the CSU, Chico sales team won both team and individual first place awards and earned $2,000 in cash prizes at the Western States Collegiate Sales Competition, held at CSU, Chico.
