California State University, Chico is once again in an elite group of schools across the country singled out for their exemplary environmental programs and policies.

Princeton Review Green Honor Roll BadgeCSU, Chico is one of the 21 colleges and universities nationwide named last week to Princeton Review’s 2014 Green Honor Roll, and only one of eight schools to repeat from the 2013 list.

Princeton Review surveyed 806 colleges and universities about practices including waste diversion, transportation alternatives, environmentally conscious building, sustainability policies, academic programs and engagement with students.

“This is another example of how highly regarded we are nationally,” said Fletcher Alexander, campus sustainability coordinator for CSU, Chico’s Institute for Sustainable Development. “It is evidence of hard work and a longterm vision by many campus community members who have together transformed Chico State into a true national leader in sustainability.”

The 806 colleges and universities were given scores ranging from 60 to 99; only CSU, Chico and 20 others received a 99 rating.

The Princeton Review website with information about each Green Honor Roll campus is at http://www.princetonreview.com/green-honor-roll.aspx.
